News from the Trustees
The Trustees meet with Genie O’Connell to review an updated proposal from the Music Committee on how they could use a portion of the Dash estate. Although no final decisions were made and clarifications on some items are needed, it was agreed that identified renovations to the choir loft and choir room should proceed.
There will be a Strategic Planning Retreat update on October 6th from 5 to 7pm in the Fellowship Hall. A light dinner is planned with Elliott Cumming (previous facilitator) agreeing to facilitate this meeting. All individuals who attended the first meeting in April are encouraged to attend as well as any interested individuals.
An Executive Committee meeting has been scheduled for September 9th – our present by-laws outline the role of this committee, but in recent years this group has not met. The goal is improved communication among the committees.
The work on the parking lot by Eric Wood is complete, with project on budget. The exit onto Townsend Avenue will be blocked and signage is being coordinated. Cathy Conn has proposed a landscape design; however, there are no budgeted funding. Once this plan is finalized, we will share with the congregation and ask for donations for the plantings.
A lighting rod inspection has been completed – all okay, the elevator was broken and fixed, “deep cleaning” areas have been identified – please see the list on the bulletin board, painting of the hallway off the vestry has been approved and speakers for the Fellowship Hall are being priced.
The expansion of the Food Pantry area should be complete by September 1st.
